Diversity & Inclusion: Culturally-Competent Lawyering


Program Description:
Lawyers should be able to lawyer across culture in order to better fulfill their ethical obligations to clients and others in the legal system.

Program Objectives:
  • Learn how the cultural differences between you, your client, and others in the legal system might impact the representation of your client.
  • Apply five habits of increasing cultural competence to a realistic scenario.
  • Reflect on your own practice and how you can apply these five habits to better understand your clients.
Important MCLE Notice:
If you have previously viewed this program and received a Certificate of Completion, you may only claim MCLE credit once for this Program within a 12-month period. The ARDC reports individual attorney attendance to the MCLE Board by the 5th of the month subsequent to the date of completion of the MCLE program (for example, September events will be reported by October 5).
